If you have never been to one of the Disney parks you may wonder how suitable these parks are for kids like ours, this young. After having been in Florida 2 years and a bit ago we knew that the answer to that is 'very'. Especially if you have kids who speak English, and hence understand the stories and songs in the original languages, and who can watch things like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Jack & the Neverland Pirates or many other Disney produced kids programs.
Rick always loved Mickey & co, from his Houston days, and now loves anything Lion King or Peter Pan. Kaat these days wants to marry Mickey, or maybe Goofy and loves princesses. Apart from a few thrill rides (about 3 out of the 80 or so attractions) the kids can go in anything in the park and so it is really all for young kids. But wat for us made it really worth our while was the kids faces during the daily parade and when we encountered the characters elsewhere. I will never forget the look on Rick & Kaat's faces. The enthusiasm and the cries of joy. They also still talk about it!
It is hard to take good pictures of the parade - or what I mean really is the kids faces whist they are watching it. But the encounters - that was easy enough to capture on camera.
First there was Mini in the lobby of our hotel.
And then inside the park, because we got their early enough, we also managed to meet Mickey - backstage.
Both Rick & Kaat where start struck as you can tell from the body language.
For the last morning there we booked a breakfast with Mickey & friends. Which really topped it off as we met Pluto:
Geppetto (Pinocchio's dad) - whom Rick immediately recognized whilst we did not think he knew the story -
Kaat compared pretty shoes with Goofy:
And Duuk was enchanted by Chip...or Dale. Rick knows exactly who is who. The red knows is Dale he says.
And then it all ended with a family hug with Mickey.
