We stayed in the hotel at the club at the most famous of Bangalore's gated communities frequented by Expats. In our time there we had hoped to start meeting people but actually found little connection with the people we ran into there, some of which even daily. We only actually had some real conversations and phone number exchanges with 2 British couples with kids who actually where both also just on in the compound 'in transit'. Though not staying in the hotel both where in the process of moving to other communities for a better quality of living......
So considering we need to make new friends here and it had been a month since we has seen them all we figured we better get a move on and invited them over. Despite the fact that they all did not know each other either it was a very successful afternoon. The kids all got along great, we had a good time, and we got to try out the entertainment capabilities of our house. One of the families has a girl Kaatje's age, who also is in the parallel class at her school. The other family has 2 boys, 1 Rick's age and one a little younger then Kaat.
Happy chaos.

We tested our pool, the nice gas BBQ we bought from a German next door leaving (who clearly maintained it like his Mercedes - in super condition!) and our huge table and new play room setting. Rick & Kaat where clearly delighted by the to them recognizable situation: a house full of people. Rick told me "we are having a great time!" - I think we should bring even more friends next time.
No replacement by any means of the friends we are missing from elsewhere but we made a start! Saturday we also had a first Birthday party here at Windmills, and I have been invited to a ladies only evening event next week, some mom meetings (so far during the day) and Kaat also scored her first Birthday party invite. Not a bad score after < 2 months.
