Bangalore Brunch

We discovered soon enough here that sunday brunch is kind of the thing to do. Energy levels around here on the subject went up even higher with the Windmill-ers (our neighbors) when it turned out that the new Marriott down the road is nearly ready for its official opening and that it was having a 'trial run' brunch last sunday. 

So with about 1/3 of the villa residents we made our way to the hotel. All in our cars, a whopping 1 km drive with upon arrival a full security check of the car (bonnet, booth & mirror underneath) and full personal security screening at the front door that trip took as log as if we would have walked it. But hey, no nuisance from the street dogs in the car -;)

In different combinations we recognized many of our neighbors being there and met a few more. For the kids full blown entertainment was put on in the form of a bouncy castle, entertainment staff, a balloon man, face painter, arts & craft teacher etc. Rick LOVED everything they put out 'for his party' and wanted to stay forever and ever! Maybe also really because of all the 'big boys' present for him to follow around.

 Kaat is also clearly very good at brunching.

and eating copious amounts of pizza like a pro.

For Eelco the brunches are not so good as he cannot avoid needing to try EVERYTHING, but it does make him very very happy. For the adults there was plenty to enjoy in the food arena with a full on cheese & (cold) meat section, extensive salads and salad bar, Indian ready made food, Indian food cooked on demand, 3 special other hot continental dishes cooked on demand, an indoor and an outdoor BBQ, a wood fired pizza oven producing non stop, a sushi bar and even then the opportunity to order 'something else' for your kids in case they where picky eaters. The dessert buffet was about half the size of the main buffet and unlimited supplies of candy appeared to be added to it at regular intervals.

 We spend a good 3.5 hrs there and the kids never got bored, the adults could socialize loads and Kaat kept coming back for more pizza.

 A very hard life we have -;) and with Eelco back in the country and the baby stuff a lot more organized then before the weekend I was also actually able to sit back & relax and enjoy.

and then the price tag? Also very reasonable, little kids free, and a flat $30 per adult without alcohol and $40 with - I only could have one glass of course but it was sooooo nice! Hopefully this was a success for the hotel as well and we will be back here on a Sunday in a couple of weeks.
