Since a few days we made it onto the Windmills forum, meaning we get to see what all our neighbors and fellow 'Windmillers' are talking about and staying up to speed with what happens on the grounds. In IT city, it turns out, many of the Indian's living mainly in the big apartment complex also part of the grounds have lots to write about.
One of the ongoing discussions appeared to be about theft by personnel and how the WM (Windmills) security and communication on the forum should help withe these issues with maids, drivers and cooks. Security was mentioned a lot and then messages started to appear about an incident and how it was bad we had not been properly informed yet.
By the end of the morning the maintenance foreman (who probably is the better English speaker in the group) was making the rounds to invite all tenants and owners to a meeting about 'the security situation' later this afternoon. Kind of oblivious I said with Kaat on my arm - thanks for invite; yeah I heard something about an incident, what was that about. Then the guy said "someone was murdered in his apartment Friday"........what?!?!?!
Then after seeing more notices on the forum, hearing the feedback from the meeting (we could not go) and the newspaper articles about it the story is not very clear nor comfortable. The guy was quite well known to many here, also in the Villa's and was sort of an expat here with German family. There are 2 security guards who are suspected to have played a role in all this although others suggest that there may be a bigger story there and the 2 'missing' security guards may merely have come after the fact and taken some valuables and are now the easiest way for the police to be seen doing something quickly and pinning it all on them. Lots of emotions, speculation & gossip. AND lots of new measures and arrangements for all of us.
Little bizarre all. Don't really think at all we are under threat or could be next, but nevertheless it does not make us sleep any better either!
