Art Class

On the compound we now live there is a lady who organized an Art class for 3 - 7 year olds on the weekend. It involves a theme, and some discovery type activities as well as making Art and some snack & play time. We had arrived just in time for Rick to take part in the current series and so Sunday morning I took him over to a house in the next street. Rick did not give off any signs of recognition but when he was supposed to introduce himself 4 other kids said out aloud 'that is Ricky' and 'he is in my School or class' and 'he is my new friend'. Rick might not be quite ready for new social ties at this stage but everyone else appears to be ready for him though.....

The theme this week was Dinosaurs which is reasonably high on Rick chart of interest levels these days so no complaints from him. I can only show some pictures as many had other kids faces in them. Rick made a painting by putting paint on paper and then folding it and working it - making some kind of Dinosaur which he also named.

After that they made Dinosaur slippers:

Rick told us he had a lot of fun. The teacher told us that he was a bit on his own to start with but that he was happy and unlike most kids at their first class he 'did not shy away from the snack'....how come that last comment was not a surprise to us at all?!
