The first thing we did when we got to the Hill Country is find some place to soak in the water - finally!. The Huge water park called Schlitterbahn is heaving in the weekends and huge, on a Tuesday only 1/3 of the park was open but considering there were only about 100 - 150 people there and the numerous attractions that was plenty for us.
We stationed ourselves near the infant play area - with ankle deep water - and from there ventured out to do all the rides and slides, over and over and over again. Especially Rick & Eelco - the family water rats could not get enough (see also movie below) and as it was so quiet they where allowed in EVERYTHING!
Kaat was less adventurous this time around and did not want to do to many big boy rides but was unstoppable on the kids slides - and was especially keen to climb up the slides against the traffic.
I also got to take some rides & floats with Rick which was lovely as it was super hot!
Kaatje was also happy to cheer us on.
Or let us have fun whilst she took a beauty sleep.
Towards the end of the day, Rick spend a lot of time in the pool like this. He had seen me float in the pool at the house the evening before and was intrigued. So he spend a good 90 min - with a LOT of checking on him by the lifeguards - until he could float too. He never said or asked anything - just got in the pool to practice till he could make it work. Cute! (although Rick would prefer me to say 'cool')
