There is a Dutch expression which goes as follows: "If the cat is away from home, the mice are dancing at the table."
So Eelco left us, in the Easter weekend, with good Friday off, the elections on the Thursday before so 4 days of kids at home, and very few of their friends around and no help for most of the weekend (2 of the 3 are Christians). Well also bad planning from my side - so no right to complain! Time for a lot of quality time for me with the kids - dancing on the table.
As I had only just one back from a business trip myself I was kind of tired the first morning. But the kids eased me in by reading stories to me.
And being on their best & cutest behavior
With such exemplary behavior I dared to take all 3 into the pool
always a hit
and it may not look like much but Rick can swim and Kaat almost
After that Duuk was done with exemplary behavior - he climbed up the stairs and did an elaborate wiggle dance at the top. Over and over again till I had them all dry and back inside the house…pff.
We spend lots of time in our Pyjama's and princess dresses
Doing gymnastics & giggling. Duuk keeps on dying to climb on top of Rick, squeezing his bud and trying to tickle him.
Then Duuk the Doctor all made us laugh some more.
My friend Catharine came round in the afternoon, but was more or less hijacked by Rick. The two of them where friends in minutes, discussing everything and all, doing massage training...
and Yoga
Then it was my turn to be the massage test subject….lovely!
Sunday afternoon 2 sets of friends came round, the only ones left in Bangalore, fortunately bringing a while Easter lunch. Duuk loved it, ate loads and then tried to convince Richard to bring his bill tong next time (dried south african beef)
Then we did a little Easter egg hunt
Which all the kids enjoyed (although Rick enjoyed helping me fill the eggs almost more!)
We managed to find all the eggs before all the candy ended up stuck together for ever (we never even bothered trying with Chocolate - way too hot outside!)
Lovely Sunday afternoon - followed by more swimming
Hours later, somewhere in the dark of the night the Cat came home again. Nice - even for the mice!
