Zoolala

In between getting organized we also try to keep up some fun family time at the weekend. Temperatures in the weekend where lovely but unfortunately the Rain also literally swept in and through for most of the Saturday. The country fair & rodeo in fort bend on Sunday unfortunately for us had Tejano day with no real Rodeo events and just a lot of Mariachi bands....Opa Kees would have loved it but not really our thing. So we opted for the easy out and went to the Zoo instead. We had not been in a while and if we stick to Rick's pace we never see more then 15% in 3 hrs anyway so can make it a 'new' visit every time!

Kaat was mildy interested in the Animals - although she had no trouble sotting any of them - but loved the big playground. She ran loads and has a few new bruises also to show for it -;)

 Ehm - yes - by European standards the weather was lovely - in Houston terms it was cold at about 25C - 30C with a little wind so we had to bring our jackets & long sleeves.

We now have 2 kids 'dirceting' our family activities and as you can see it is kind of hard to please both simultaneously.

Rick did appear to remember us talking about Rodeo though - as he did a little bull riding on his Hippo on the Merry go Round.

The attraction we focussed on this time where the Chimps and the 'poesjes' (Kitties) - such as Lions, Tigers, Cheetas etc etc. Our main attraction was the kids and making it out the zoo and into the car in time again before the rain came lashing down again. No need for a zoo guide as Rick explains it all, about the differences and what they eat and checks out of they have a Kaatje one (a baby / little one) and what they do and then somewhat off topic he explained to us that sticks have Mommy's too. They are kind of big actually....and they look like trees. Much wiser and writ of some boxed up energy we went back home.
