This is not a post about Houston Traffic (which by Dutch standards is Not anyway) - but in an attempt to keep drivers informed road signs are set up everywhere which will tell you about travel time to the next major junction, major roadworks or accidents, event parking, gun shows, severe weather warnings, driving related wisdoms (click it or ticket or something) and all sorts of other 'useful' information. The one that keeps me busy though is this one:
So what happened? Somebody is old enough to get lost and not remember where they are or who they are but has been deemed fit enough to drive? Someone escaped the old people's home stealing the Bingo kitty? Someone got fed up with babysitting his/her grandchildren? The thing that mistifies me that it is always Elderlies who are missing - the signs are never up for missing 'Hunk' or missing 'Doctor' etc etc. This particular one has been up for two days now. And we also get these signs if an Elderly person is missing a couple of hundred miles away in Austin or Dallas....Guess that is the result of the long and boring interstates - People just keep driving?
Unfortunately they never tell you how the story ends. Tomorrow being Friday it would be so nice to drive home and start the weekend reading the message: "Missing elderly found in reunion with his high school sweet hart" or something -:)
